TLLM @ SGS CPCLL Overseas Educational Exchange Program -- Incoporating the teaching & learning of Mathematics in our Preparation

In line with TLLM, we have incorporated inter-disciplinary learning in SGS CPCLL Overseas Educational Exchange program.

We have identified themes related to the following subjects (Just to name a few)

  • Chinese Language , Chinese History, Chinese Literature

  • Science (Physics & Chemistry)

  • Mathematics

  • Geography

  • Global awareness

During our discussions in our meetings as a committee, we realised that it was going to be an exciting process for us as teachers as well as the students.

This enriching and exciting overseas education exchange program simply cannot be restricted to a particular subject. THERE IS JUST SO MUCH TO BE LEARNT!!

Besides learning about Chinese Language, Literature and Chinese History, we discovered that we must teach the students certain Mathematical concepts for them to better appreciate the places we are going to visit! :)

For instance, we are going to visit the world famous 3 Gorges Dam, and we need the students to understand stuff like ft , acres , miles , billion, etc before they can appreciate the fantastic presentation made by Ms Mok Yan Yin Agnes about the 3 Gorges Dam (I really want to thank Agnes for the MAGNIFICENT piece of work there... & our Mathematician Ms Tay Hui Yih! Tres bien!!)
